    Juniperus Communis Compressa

This blue-green conifer is a dwarf form of Common Juniper. It is very upright, very tight, and very prickly. There is no need to prune this plant as it stays compact, but a little snip from time to time can make this an exceptional addition to a sunny rock garden. Almost any soil type is adequate, but for best performance give it good drainage and slightly acidic soil.

    Juniperus Communis Golden Schnaaps

This Common Juniper form is a newer introduction. It is intermediate in its growth rate and will likely reach 15 or more feet. Treat this small tree as a vertical accent. ‘Golden Schnaaps’ is blue-gray towards the center and has a bright yellow new growth that is feathery in appearance, but prickly to the touch. The bright color softens as winter approaches. ‘Schnaaps’ can be planted in a small grouping or single specimen in full sun.
